Ciao Mambos - You should go!

Last night, I ventured down to Ciao Mambo's for a nice relaxing dinner.
It was fantastic, and these are the photos I took along the way.
After dinner, I went to my usual studying place, Off the Leaf, only one photo I took there worked out...
These are those photos :

As you see here, I am attempting to try new techniques that I have found on my camera.
I enjoy them =)

Trail Running - A cold experience.

After finally getting the chance to do this project, it would make sense that it would be absolutely freezing. Thank you Jessica for sticking it out and being my runner =)

My camera is not the greatest camera in the world, and as light was failing I was becoming concerned about actually being able to capture detail...
These are some of the photos I came up with with just some simple messing around of the camera.

This reminds me of a wraith..

That was the extremely cold experience of trail running...
The first photo is one that I see frequently in trail running, so I decided to copy it.. the rest were just me messing around with my camera..
if it had not been so cold I would have taken more photos.

Last Thursday's Post - Fun with cars in the snow & random photos

This photo is too dark, but i enjoy the contrast between the ground and the lights.

I enjoy driving in this manner far too frequently, and again, my camera is not the most amazing camera in the world, and the subject of the photo is too dark. I am going to try to mess with it in photoshop and see if  can get more light out of it.

This is me riding my bike to and from classes.. it gets a bit cold...

These are just some starting photos, I am starting to play around with different angles and as I learn my camera more and more, I am hoping for better results..

Kgoodphoto's blog

I am a part of a website called reddit. A while ago someone posted up a link to this blog here, http://kgoodphotoblog.com/ and mentioned how they were a large fan of this photographers work. I perused the website and I immediately fell in love. This person is a WONDERFUL photographer. I enjoy so many aspects of her talents. One of my favorite aspects about her photography that affects me, is here ability to pull a situation into the timeless quality that is truly there all along. The details that life offers us every second that we continually file and disregard as being irrelevant she throws into the limelight to showcase just how precious they truly are.

If you've the time, I would recommend browsing through her work, its worthy of your attention. Be careful though, you might want to make sure you've got the time to be looking at photos for quite some time. Also, there are some semi nude photos way down in the blog, so if you are not a fan of that... don't look...

Model Releases - What are they, and why do we need them?

A model release is a legal document typically signed by the subject of a photo granting permission to publish or display the photograph in one way or another. There is more depth to this, but I feel this will suffice in a general understanding of the topic.

This is extremely important as the photographer when taking photos for the obvious reason that there could be a large amount of legal ramifications were there to be a photo taken of an unwilling subject. The model release in a general form is a protection for the photographer to publish and use the photos garnished whomever the subject of the photo may be.
